Sources
Here you can select the device sources you wish to use to feed metrics during your activity.
Tip
Pair your Bluetooth devices in Devices to ensure they are available here for selection.
Tap a source to choose an available option or paired device. Rows with two choices switch directly; larger lists open a wheel picker.
The following sources can be configured:
-
Location
Allows you to change the source of the GPS.
- GPS(auto): If you have your phone connected, the phone GPS will be selected otherwise it will fall back to the watch GPS.
- GPS(device): Force the use of the local devices GPS (no auto switching).
-
Location Signal
Feedback setting to alert you when the GPS signal is lost or regained.
-
Distance
-
Speed/Pace
-
Heart Rate
-
Elevation
-
Power
-
Cadence
-
Metrics
Advanced metrics from BLE devices (Currently only Stryd is supported)
-
Health Client
Health Client is a Wear OS service that provides native activity-tracking metrics and device-optimized sensor algorithms. GT supports the following Health Client sources:
- Distance
- Speed/Pace
- Heart Rate
- Elevation
- Cadence
Each metric can be selected independently. For example, you can use Health Client for heart rate and elevation while using another available source for speed, distance, and cadence.
In 1.1.0, if Health Client distance stops updating, GPS-enabled activities fall back to device GPS and non-GPS activities to the pedometer. When Health Client resumes, GT avoids counting the same distance twice.
Health Client elevation uses its dedicated absolute-elevation metric. If a selected Health Client metric is temporarily unavailable, GT uses the configured fallback source where one is available.
Note
Health Client runs only on supported Wear OS devices. It is labelled Health Client on both the wearable and mobile profile editors. On mobile, the small green icon indicates that the source runs on the paired watch and cannot collect data on the phone itself.
Warning
Only one app can use Health Client at a time. If another app is already tracking your activity when you start GT, that app will stop tracking. If GT is using Health Client and you start another app that also uses Health Client, GT will lose access to these features and fall back to its own algorithms.
