Logging

The frequency at which records are written to the activity log is configurable. The default setting is every 4 seconds, which provides a good balance between minimizing file size and maintaining high fidelity of the logged track.

Note

This setting does not currently impact the frequency at which the GPS reports, which is fixed at 1 second to ensure maximum accuracy for distance intervals (laps) and splits. Future updates may include power-saving features that could alter this behavior.

Tip

Set the logging frequency to a higher frequency (< 4 seconds) for enhanced precision in scenarios such as:

  • Tracking high-speed activities like downhill mountain biking, which involve rapid turns and greater speeds.
  • Using BLE devices that monitor time-sensitive metrics such as [ Power] or other devices like Stryd™ that track critical performance data.

Screen

This setting ensures that the screen remains on at all times during your activity when Gear Tracker II is active.

Pause Mode

This setting allows you to control the pause functionality during your activity. There are three options:

Manual: You must manually invoke the pause.

Race Mode: Pause is disabled to prevent accidental interruptions during races.

Auto Pause (GPS activities only): The activity automatically pauses and resumes when you stop/start moving.

Pause Options

Here you can specify the type of feedback you would like during Pause and Resume of an activity.

Action Button

This setting allows you to customize the action associated with single and double presses of the button. You can switch between pausing the activity and manually advancing a lap.
